Wishing it was Spring...

For us here in the southern hemisphere
it is still the middle of Winter...
I am "over" the cold...
I am "over" staying inside...
and I am "over" layers of clothes...

I just wish it was Spring...

Chevron Blanket...

So with the first ray of sunshine in days...
I set about adding some
Spring
to my morning...

Chevron Blanket...

This blanket
was made by my Mum...
Who is now on a roll...
Crocheting so fast it just amazes me...
Chevroning till her hearts content using Bendigo "Classic" wool...

Chevron Blanket...

This yarn is so gorgeous...
It has a crepe look to it...
which is very mid season
compared to the more tradition wool looks...

The colours are so bright...
and there are so many to choose from...
I think it will be hard to decide what colours to do next...

So for all of my dear friends who are sitting by the heater
to keep warm...
I hope these images add some brightness and warmth into your morning...

Gorgeous blanket! It's colours definitely made me feel that Spring is not that far:) Although I do like wearing winter cloths, Spring makes me happy!

I am reading your post from the east coast of the United States; I live just two miles from the Atlantic Ocean and about one and a half hours train ride south of NYC. It is summer here, and we've had record high temperatures just within the past few days. Most people are staying put and staying indoors--too unhealthy to be outside. Although it's hot, I've been crocheting too. Enjoy your blog, Victoria

I'm totally with you on the winter thing. The only thing keeping me happy when it's raining and cold is that I heard the other day that our dams our now at 60% capacity instead 28% just a year or so ago. Never want to go through those drought years again.
Keep warm,
Anne xx

I'm happy to enjoy winter for a bit longer especially as it has been very mild this year and the sun has been making some very timely appearances.
The rug is gorgeous and crochet and winter really do go together in my mind. I want to get some more things done before the weather changes.
Enjoy you little spring morning.

I love the blankie your Mum made. It looks great.
I must admit that while I do like spring (it is my favourite season) I am enjoying winter. I like snuggling and getting warm :)

In my corner of the world, we are stuck inside because of the scorching summer heat. At least 50 C each and every day. But I don't mind pajama days and since I will have to return to my job at an American school in 3 weeks, I am happy to stay put, happily blogging and crocheting the day away. Your mom's blanket is beautiful. I've not tried the chevron. But I have tried your Grandma Heart and Grandma All Round and enjoyed both patterns. Maybe I will give the Nana Square a go next. I just accomplished the granny square after several years of trying so need to head to the craft store for more yarn so I can start a giant granny. :) Have a beautiful day! Tammy

what a lovely blanket! there's nothing like a homemade cozy blanket to wrap up in in the winter! i live in the US (in Pennsylvania) and it is way too hot for a blanket right now. i understand your longing for spring, winter always seems way too long for my taste!

Ugh, I am so pleased to be away from winter. It was really bringing me down this year.
Your Mum is such a clever cookie isn't she. That rug is divine. Ceratinly adds the touch of spring to your pretty picture. x

Be happy that you will soon have the best time in front of you. We here in Sweden have it behind us. Now we are heading towards autumn, after a rainy summer.

This is lovely! My mom has taken to crochet recently. Its fun sharing some hooky time occasionally on our Sundays together. You know our past winter was soooo long. I couldn't wait till spring and am missing it already. It's been in the 100's for weeks here now. Great for sitting out in the evenings or a day by the water. But otherwise quite hot. Looking forward to fall. :)

I have to say that I am totally jealous that you are taking photos in the middle of your winter, and that there is no snow on the ground! At this point of my winter it's around -40 Celsius during the day (including the windchill) with a ton of snow on the ground!
