Grandma Trees...
My Grandma's legs
are large and wide,
People say they are trunks in disguise.
If this is the case,
then I'm relieved to say.
Her arms must be branches
that can hold me all day.

I have used Wheat coloured yarn as it is easy to see
But this is the Rust design from picture above...

and size 3.5 hook...

This last round is very long
as I am trying to explain it step-by-step
for the beginner crocheter...
Now we go straight...no curves for the bottom of the tree...
Last Round finished...I do know that last round was mammoth...
Nearly there..

Okey dokey! I have made 3 so far, and get this....I didn't have to take them apart and start over. No...not even once!
However, when looking for yarn here, out of the hundreds of skeins, there was only one, yes I said one, that said what ply it was. I had NO idea what I was looking for. I just found some that was fairly skinny and bought it.
Wonderful! I will have to make some with the stars and with snowman that I found on another blog

Hello there and THANK YOU!!I came yesterday from attic 24 for the stars and was finally going to MAKE a star today and what a lovely surprise to find the tree as well!!! I have now made BOTH. tHEY'LL BE ON FLICKR as soon as I reset a password and recharge the battery on my camera....and on my blog too. Have linked my blog to yours but don't get excited, I've only a few close friends following me! Unlike Lucy who has hundreds : including myself and my friends and stitchers too!Thank you thank you!! I'll be making tree and star garlands and tree decorations for this Christmas now.Love love love it!!! You are sooooo clever and they are sooo brilliant!!!

Thank you for the granny tree tutorial. It's a cute and quick project.
When I start the trunk, It seems that my yarn is on the wrong side of the pattern. Am I doing something wrong? Also is the pattern based on tripple crotchets or double crochet. The "trebble (dc)" is a bit confusing to me.
Dear Keebadders...
You will notice that you were working the main tree on the right side...and as you start the trunk you need to turn over to the wrong side(ws) so you will need to move the yarn to your right side..
The pattern is written in English terms...eg:treble is a treble.
in america they call trebles, double crochet.(dc).
Sorry I have never heard of a tripple...
only ever heard of a triple treble but that is a very big stitch...I hope this help a bit...
