I made this up by accidentAs I was trying to convert my grandma petal brooch into a granny square...
But...
my flowers have 6 petals and I needed 8
to convert to 4 spaces at the back to continue with the granny square...
Now doing that many petals has a tendency to be way too wavy...
So after many attempts
I just thought I would go with the 8 petals
and see what happens...
And this is what happened...
A very wiggly center!!!
Cool!!!
After starting one I couldn't stop...
and next minute I had enough to make into a very
pretty cushion...
Just need to start the back...We maybe tomorrow that is...
It is getting rather late

It looks just gorgeous and not by accident! I was playing around with a new motif tonight myself, and before I knew it i had 2 made, and another almost done, and then I knew i had a brand new obsession. Now I must put down the crochet and go to bed...perhaps after I just finish one more motif!
I do like the results of your experiment. It's like Granny goes 3-D, no special glasses required!
