As I can imagineand ways of making
Christmas Stars...
This is just the way I do mine
There is a edit at the end of the tutorial with a link...I use 8 ply wool and 3.5 crochet hook
Standard Australian terms used...
Conversion for our American
friends in brackets...(...)...
First round finished...
Second round finished...Edit for next round HERE...
If your tension is not right you may find this helps...
Third round finished...
Too easy...
Don't for get to see the edit on the 3 round...

Chaining a length about 30cm long
and attach a star by Slip stitching into the top of a point
or DC (SC)...
A few more chain
and attach another...
when all attached do another 30cm of chain and tie of...

this is fabulous michelle... i haven't even read it yet, i just had to 'gush' how wonderful it all looks and the pics are just perfectly lovely with the clear instructions.
just looking at your tutorial, even without reading it, makes me believe that even i, she of very little 'pattern reading' capabilities, might just perhaps have a little crocheted 'grandma twinkle' star all of my own to hang 'bright' this christmas :)

oh thank you Michelle how wonderful and clear, now once I actually feel I can start to crochet I am going to give this a go, it actually looks clear to me which is definately a first with crochet!!

Love this tutorial and would love to make some for my tree. I'm not the most experienced at crochet, so the instructions have confused me.
You say Treble and then have (DC) and even say Double Crochet, with an (SC) beside it. What does that mean? Am I doing treble crochets or is it a double crochet? Can you clear up what the abbreviations in the paraenthesis mean please?
