I made these stars last year
and just used scraps of matching material
and felt backing
i very roughly sewed around the edge
and added a bit of stuffing...
cute little star buttons hold it all together...

Wow, what a beautiful mantel! All teady to snuggle in front of a blazing yule log ;)
The fireplace was the heart of my family home as a child, and always the focus of the Christmas decorations. We don't have one now, and whenever I smell a woodfire when I'm out walking in the evenins I feel very wistful!
You did a great job on that fireplace - it looks totally transformed.
The little stars are so sweet! I love the mirror above your fireplace too.
oh your mantelpiece looks wonderful Michelle, and the paint job on the fire place well what an amazing difference!!!
