This work in progress
I will say isn't for the faint at heart...
It has been something that I have wanted to try and work out for a long time
and have only just started to think of just how it would be done...
I have used three strands of yarn mostly at the same time
and even though I will end up changing somethings
I think I have the general idea in my mind now of what it will end up looking like...
I will need some more yarn of course as I think it will suit a thicker yarn that hides
the strands better...
And I also think I needed to put in an extra round of white...
and maybe loose the full granny square look to the middle of it...
But all in all I am happy with it's potential...
It reminds me of knitting thou using all of these colours at once...
and is very slow going...
I am constantly getting tangled up...
On other news...
I have been rather slack lately here on my little blog
as I am back to work...
So I will say sorry to you my dears for begin so sweet about it...
Only doing a few shifts here and there but it has been so long
since I have worked in a kitchen my poor legs
seem to be suffering so...
Concrete and tile floors are the worst to walk on...
I didn't wear this number to work but I did find it at the thrift shop
last week and thought it was rather nice to wear this time of year...
Till next post...Keep up the granny goodness and I will be back
very soon with hopefully more on my "flag" design...
holey crap...thats amazing, looks fantastic as is.
ReplyDeleteGosh that does look complicated, but great. Nothing worse than concrete and tiles to have to walk and stand on all day. Hope the aching legs go.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing more of your flag.
GASP!!!!

Your square is lovely. I'm afraid I do not have the patience for such a thing though. I know my limits! hee. I admire you for what it's taking to design such a thing. It's beautiful to look at.

ReplyDeletebut I have to be honest and admit that my first thought was 'eeeek...there's a lot of work in that!!!' I'm lazy!
You are outstanding! Fantastic work. I would be to nervous to start something like that.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that's going to be very special!X
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks amazing, as does everything else. Love your blog which I have just discovered via those Mary Go Rounds! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! I have a son that loves the British flag, and wanted me to make him something of the sort but I had no clue how to start. Your granny square is perfect! Would you consider sharing the pattern with me? I could probably figure it out by blowing up the picture, but this is your work and I wouldn't want to steal it away from you without your permission. :)I think I would add a double cluster of DC in red closer to the center cross. Do you carry the thread throughout the work?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this. I stumbled across it.
Holy Mackerel! It's brilliant, I love it! You are constant amazement my dear.
