Just when you may have thought

I had slowly started

to cross the line from

"Granny Goodness"

to borderline 

"Kitsch"

with my

Granny Hoot Tea Cozy...

I lost the plot...
and
dove head over heels into kitsch...

With the Kitschy Koala Tea Cozy...

I knew there was some "twee" in me...
just waiting to pour out...




So with a lot of patterns to finish writting out...
I will just
have to leave you for now with some
pretty kitschy pictures to enjoy...

on my resent illness..
I am still working through it
but most of the earing has come back...Yeah...

I should have the Granny Hoot pattern available very soon in my etsy shop...
I am so thrilled with everyone's comments on it
and
I do think it will be just the
cutest thing
to keep you tea warm and cozy...

Sporadically accelerated...

A week of 

getting things done...

Pattern writing
and lots of photo's...

And a week of getting 

lost...

I have had a virus of the horrendous  type...

The kind that makes you cough...then cough some more...
and when you think your lungs have had enough...
you cough some more and you know they have burst...

Now I could have coped with that...
Believe it or not...

But this lurgy bug thought it would give me a double dose of bad luck
and
made me loss my hearing...

after a few tests...

it seems that my "good ear" has lost 20 - 30 %...
and my "dodgy ear" has lost 30 - 50 %...

Now the "dodgy" ear is still "unstable" so they say...
 so
with huge doses of prednisone
it might get better...

In the mean time the prednisone
is making it very hard to
relax...

It is making me very accelerated
and really I think I am pretty accelerated without help...

So many nights I am now sitting up far too late cleaning the house
and crocheting sporadically as I can't seem to concentrate very well...

But if it means that I could get back some of my hearing
it is all worth it...

Any way,
 on the bright side...it means that at least the house is getting clean...lol...

P.S...Thank you all for lovely Granny Hoot love...
and hopefully I will get some time to write out 
a free tutorial for my Granny Biscuits too...

Introducing

my new doll

The Sisterhood of Seasons...Winter...

She is quite the cozy little thing...

Not only a lovely fringed hoodie
but an added fringe
on her outfit...



I have added a braid
around the bottom part of the hair...
which makes her look ever so
pretty...



I am not really sure if I will get around to writing the pattern out
soon...
as I did use an unusual "loop" stitch for the fringe
and then cut through them ...
It isn't very easy to explain...without a diagram...
So that will take a while to work out...

But you could just add a simple "hook" blanket loop
and it would look just as nice...

I have been getting into the 1940's swing of late
and I came across a lovely blog called

"Bright Young Twins"

They are well worth a look as
they have very lovely outfits
and lots of vintage finds...

It inspired me this week to make some simple felt flowers...
and adding some victory rolls
my hair and I were
transformed
into the 1940's...

Something that gives me a little hint

a little inkerling

to what it should...or likes...

to be called...

But nada...nothing...zilch...zip...zero...

My new friend...

Oh it's about time isn't it

for a new pattern...

and I am so excited to write this one out...

She has a very cute hoodie

that you can 

pull down too...

A pair of very sweet stripy legs...

and very....well....cute!

This one is just the prototype
but a second one is coming along nicely
with a few better creative changes that I am making...

I have lots of scribbles on notepads to decipher
and hopefully
I will start testing it out on a few
unsuspecting keen crocheters...

Finally finished the 8 x 6 rows...

very late last night...

Woke to a "picture perfect" day...

So I dragged out the ladder

and "Bertie and Gertie" the ceramic chickens...

and got snapping...

Granny Square Blanket so far...

So far so good...

8 squares by 5 squares...

Need to get on with another row as it is getting to the stage were it looks like "something"...

I can't believe that it has taken this long...

But changing colours every row will do that...

We have been having a very wet start to Autumn here
and the leaves are starting to change already...



That's climate change for you!!!

Are your seasons all "mixed up" too?

A friend mentioned to me today that their friend just flew into Sydney
a few days ago
and the first comment they made was..."it smells like mould"...

Now don't get me wrong Sydney is normally a beautiful city full of
amazing sites, parks, museums and people...

But the weather has played havoc in the last few months...
I do hope it improves very soon...

Not just there but right across our amazing planet...

A Bit of Art...here and there...

This week I have been absent from

blogging and most internet communications

as my laptop has decided that the battery is just plain "exhausted"...

So in the time that I have had spare

I have been doing a bit of

mixed media art...

adding bits here and there...

painting, glueing and colouring...



and not forgetting to add a smidgen of crochet...

so that was my first attempt
and I am fairly happy with how it turned out...
I added lots of things I love
and
things that remind me of what I love...
like recipes, letters, material etc...

I think that I would like to try another one...

We will see how I go...

So for now my blogging will be a tad here and there
until I get my computer working properly...
But I will be checking out as many of my sweet dears blogs
as often as I can...

What a great way to start the week...

It really doesn't matter

They just make the day seem so much brighter...

Also this week I have finished off some crocheting...



A lovely red wool vest
from the same Japanese crochet pattern book that I have mentioned
here...
This ended up begin about a size 14...
I will be making my next one a little bit smaller...

 I did find it very quick and easy to understand...

and the subtle detail on the top and edge was just perfect...
If made in wool thou you will use about 300grams so it does pay
to get more just in case...

So that it about all here at River Cottage this morning...

He is a Lop eared Cashmere fellow...

Very handsome

with the quietest nature...

Very Fluffy
and adores cuddles...

I think he quite likes to be photographed as well...



Of course now with Mr Bejamin residing here at River Cottage
I might not have much spare time...

So I needed a project that I could just do every now and then...
